The Houston Texans deserve to move up in this week’s NFL power rankings.
Russell Baxter of FanSided has released his latest NFL power rankings with week three pretty much in the books.
Last week, Baxter had the Houston Texans ranked 22nd. Despite a close loss to the New England Patriots in week three, they’ve actually moved up to No. 18 heading into week four.
Here’s a portion of what Baxter wrote about Texans this week.
He continues to make his mistakes. But is there any question that Houston Texans rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson is in position to do some big things for Bill O’Brien’s team? On Sunday at Foxborough, he had his team primed for a huge upset win. The 12th overall pick in April’s draft threw for 201 yards but also had just as many touchdown passes as interceptions (2). But his legs added 41 yards on eight carries. And that doesn’t count his amazing scrambling ability. Still, a loss is a loss and giving up 36 points can’t please defensive coordinator Mike Vrabel.
Even though the Texans are 1-2, the good news is not one team is dominating within the AFC South division right now.
