The wide receiver, who was a hyped free-agent signing by the Birds this offseason, gave the Eagles a 10-6 lead on the Kansas City Chiefs late in the third quarter when he beat cornerback Phillip Gaines, caught a pass from quarterback Carson Wentz and fell forward before reaching into the end zone:

Jeffery was originally ruled down at the Chiefs 1, but Gaines did not touch him down after Jeffery made the catch. Therefore, Jeffery could continue to advance the ball, which he did by stretching his 6-foot-3 frame to the goal line to complete the 16-yard touchdown.
It’s Jeffery’s first touchdown catch with the Birds. In last week’s season-opening win at Washington, Jeffery had three catches for 38 yards. Wentz continued to look for him against the Chiefs, and his touchdown was his fourth catch for 57 yards.
On the touchdown drive, Wentz completed passes to four different receivers, including his first to rookie wide receiver Mack Hollins.
The Eagles currently trail the Chiefs after running back Kareem Hunt’s long touchdown run.
