The Dallas Cowboys young secondary will be tested in Denver – Dallas Cowboys News

The Dallas Cowboys will be without Orlando Scandrick when they face Denver, the young secondary will need to step up to fill the void.

The Dallas Cowboys caught a break last week when New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham sat out with an ankle injury. Although wide out Brandon Marshall and second-year receiver Sterling Shepard are formidable players, they don’t have the elite status Beckham carries.

In the process of dismantling the Giants, the Cowboys lost corner and team captain Orlando Scandrick to a broken hand injury. Rookie corner Chidobe Awuzie was forced into the lineup and corner Anthony Brown moved to the slot corner in nickel formations.

Scandrick seems on the track to miss the game against Denver. The Broncos will be full strength at wide receiver with Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas both suiting up. Thomas is one of the leagues most feared and will definitely challenge Dallas’ youth.

Anthony Brown has certainly proved he can hold his own in the NFL but rookie Awuzie has yet to be tested. Chidobe will certainly have his chance to be lined up across Thomas.
