The Houston Texans will be without starting cornerback Kevin Johnson who will miss 4-6 weeks with a grade 2 sprained left knee. The injury came in Thursday Night’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals when he was attempting to tacking Brandon LaFell. He walked off the field under his own power but he did not return to the game after the injury.

This is the third consecutive season that Johnson has dealt with a severe injury and that will put the Texans down a cornerback heading into next weeks game with the New England Patriots. Johnson has missed time with a broke foot, which broke again the following season and caused him to miss over half the season. Also, he had a hand injury that cut his rookie season short, so now there are real durability concerns for the promising cornerback.

The Texans will turn to Marcus Gilchrist, Marcus Burley and Treston Decoud to help the cornerback group. The Texans could be in the market to add a player to help the depth moving forward.
