INDIANAPOLIS – The beer was half-price and the line was full-length.

Fans at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday for the Indianapolis Colts’ first training camp practice were treated to discounted concessions. It was only $4.50 for an aluminum bottle of Bud Light.

So Shannon Evans waited and waited. She’s a season ticket holder from Greencastle who has long enjoyed this summer football treat. She’d been to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, where the Colts practiced for 11 years.

And she’d been to Anderson where the Colts worked from 1984-98 and each offseason since 2010. Until now.

“They took it away from the fans,” she said. “Today is the only day anybody gets to see them practice. I mean, I’m sure everyone involved is pretty upset about it.”

This practice was one of two open to fans this year because the team is working out in private at its West 56th Street facility. The next open practice is Saturday at Warren Central High School, 9500 E 16th St.
