Former Husker receiver Jordan Westerkamp, who went undrafted this spring, signed with the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
The 6-foot, 200-pound Westerkamp led NU with 38 catches for 526 yards his senior year, despite missing three games due to injury.
Westerkamp enjoyed his most productive year in 2015, when he caught 65 passes for 918 yards. His 65 catches were the most in a single season for an NU receiver and second most by any player in school history.
He finished his Husker career with 167 catches for 2,474 yards and 18 touchdowns, earning All-Big Ten honors as a junior and senior.
Also, receiver Isaiah Ford, who was drafted in the seventh round by the Dolphins, missed practice Sunday for a second consecutive day with a knee injury. It’s unclear whether Westerkamp’s signing is an indication Ford could be sidelined longer or whether the Dolphins are taking a look at Westerkamp.
