While it’s widely known that the Oakland Raiders have a major competition going on at inside linebacker, the question of who could win the job is completely up in the air currently.
To go along with that, it seems likely that the possibility of the team adding a veteran isn’t off the table either.

But for now, the guys who are in training camp are getting their chance, and one name specifically that many have their eyes on is rookie fifth-round draft pick Marquel Lee. Apparently, the former Wake Forest Demon Deacon is doing something right through the first two days, because as Jimmy Durkin of the Bay Area News Group reported, he was getting work with the first-team defense Sunday.

SB Nation’s Levi Damien pointed out that it was Tyrell Adams, who worked with the first team on Saturday, who was pushed to the second unit in favor of Lee.

Obviously, it’s too early to tell how this will play out, but for Lee to already be getting first-team work has to be a good sign. Could it wind up resulting in him winning the job on the inside? It’s possible, but he has some intriguing competition in the likes of Adams, Cory James and Ben Heeney, who’s currently on the Non-Football Injury (NFI) list.
