Former Raiders DB Dave Grayson passes away Sunday – Oakland Raiders News

The Oakland Raiders lost a member of Raider Nation on Sunday when 78-year-old Dave Grayson passed away, per the team’s official website.

The former Raiders defensive back played for the Silver and Black from 1965-70 and played in 84 total games for the team. Grayson’s electrifying playmaking ability was obvious on the field, as he tallied 29 interceptions, with four interceptions returned for touchdowns. He was also the punt and kick returner for the team as well.

Grayson’s best single season came in 1968 when he hauled in 10 interceptions.

He also played for Texans/Chiefs as well from 1961-64 before heading to the Bay Area.
