Before half the fans call for Jim Caldwell’s firing and the other half race out to T.J. Maxx to buy 2017 NFC North Division Champion T-shirts, let’s all take a big, deep, calm breath and let it out.
There. Much better. OK, where were we? The Lions are talking about winning the Super Bowl.
ARE THEY INSANE!?
This is a team that backed into the playoffs — Kirk Cousins is still waiting for his gift basket from Lions owner Martha Ford, by the way — and surely made some kind of Faustian deal to scrape together eight comeback wins before laying an egg in a blowout playoff loss at Seattle.
Obviously, the Lions are winning the Super Bowl.
“I think everybody has a goal of winning the Super Bowl,” safety Glover Quin said today on the eve of team’s first training camp practice. “That’s what everybody’s in this thing for.”
Caldwell was asked to give his definition for a successful season and, like Quin, he set his sights on winning the Super Bowl.
