Tyrod Taylor is the starting quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, barring injury or a great imitation by rookie Nathan Peterman of Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.
Bills fans at the team’s training camp said not only are they fine with that, but want the team to give the third-year starter another two years to show what he can do.
“I don’t think he’s been given a full opportunity, with a full set (of skilled players),” said 35-year old Michael DiMino, of Irondequoit. “Last year, barely any Sammy (Watkins). Barely any Robert Woods. Barely any receivers.
“He had low turnovers and they had a high scoring (ranking). A couple of weapons, and I’m all about Tyrod Taylor.”
Andrew Congdon, of Geneseo, said after two years as a starter, that he’s seen enough of Taylor.
“I’m on the Tyrod train,” said Congdon, 26, “I’m a Tyrod fan, through and through. The Bills have been struggling forever to get a good quarterback, put him in the spot and make him the star of the show.
“They are finally doing that this year. We need receivers, players who can gain more than four yards on dump off (passes). Tyrod is the first quarterback we’ve had since (Doug) Flutie who can throw the ball a little bit.”
