Marcell Dareus was the first injury of training camp and it appears the second happened in short order. Starting cornerback Ronald Darby walked off the field Saturday morning with a slight limp. He has not returned to practice.
On a positive note, Darby is still on the sideline and not being treated by trainers in the locker room. Second-year man Kevon Seymour took first-team reps in Darby’s spot. Leonard Johnson remained at the nickel position, where he seems to be running ahead of Seymour.
Darby is being counted on to step into the top cornerback role in the wake of Stephon Gilmore’s departure. Rookie Tre’Davious White is the other starting cornerback while Seymour and Johnson provide solid depth.
More updates to come.
