There’s been much debate this offseason about whether it would be newly-signed EJ Manuel or second-year pro Connor Cook who would be the Oakland Raiders No. 2 quarterback.
On Saturday, we at least found out who will begin training camp as the team’s No. 2, as Silver & Black Pride’s Levi Damien broke the news.
In case you were wondering, EJ Manuel starts camp as 2nd team quarterback. Connor Cook 3rd team. #Raiders

It’s not all that surprising, as Cook started two games last season, including the playoff game against the Houston Texans and struggled a fair amount. While the two games did come against tough competition in the Denver Broncos and Texans, he posted a quarterback rating of just 30 in his playoff outing.

On the flip side, Manuel is the veteran of the two and has shown glimpses of being a solid backup, tallying 19 touchdowns against 15 interceptions in his four-year NFL career.
