Dallas Cowboys: The cause of the Cowboys’ camp scuffle? Could be a ‘frustrated’ D-line – Dallas Cowboys News

Jon Machota, Cowboys beat writer for SportsDayDFW.com and The Dallas Morning News, answered questions about the team in a live chat Friday. Here are some highlights:

How did the scuffle count at practice compare to early training camp practices in previous years?

JM: Surprised me a little. These usually come a little later in camp. I think the defensive line is probably a little tired of hearing about how great this offensive line is. The O-line has been winning a lot of the one-on-one drills and that probably gets frustrating. Tyrone Crawford took a lot of the blame after practice for the three scuffles. I don’t see it as being much of a negative. Always good to get the competitive juices flowing, just as long as no one is suffering a serious injury.

How’s the offensive line experiment going in your opinion? Do you think La’el Collins will stay at RT or move back to LG?

JM: La’el Collins has been very good through two padded practices at right tackle. He looks natural. He’s not moving back inside. The only starting position up for debate on the offensive line is left guard, and that will likely be either Jonathan Cooper or Chaz Green.
