2016 recap: After a severe knee injury suffered during training camp wiped out Scandrick’s entire 2015 season, the veteran corner appeared in 12 games, starting 10 in 2016. He intercepted one pass, recorded two sacks and deflected eight passes.
Scandrick acknowledged last month that coming back from the knee injury while also dealing with foot and hamstring injuries affected his confidence.
2017 outlook: Now, two years removed from tearing ligaments in his right knee, Scandrick feels like he is back to being the player he was before the injury. That player was one of the best defenders on the roster.
During the draft, a source said the Cowboys were shopping Scandrick in hopes of adding another pick. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has been adamant that that isn’t true.
Scandrick is expected to enter this season as one of Dallas’ starting outside corners, moving inside in nickel and dime situations.
“I don’t want to go in another locker room,” Scandrick said last month. “I want to finish this thing out here and win a championship.”
