The AFC South has slowly becoming one of the most exciting divisions filled with youthful offenses. With 2017’s NFL season on the horizon where do the positions stack up and how do the Jacksonville Jaguars’ players compare to their rivals?
We examine position by position on offense.
Luck takes the the cake in this one, but not by much. Over his five seasons as the Indianapolis Colts starting quarterback, Luck has had early success. Unfortunately, the last two seasons haven’t lived up to expectations. In 2015 Luck sat out most of the season due to injuries. In 2016 he found success with fairly good numbers statistically but his offensive line struggled immensely. Even with the two bad seasons Luck is still the best quarterback on this list based on his ability to put up big numbers and his experience as at the position. However by season’s end he may drop to the second spot due to the rise of Mariota.
Mariota has brought his unique skill set to the pros and has found success in each of his first two seasons. Most notably last season when his Titans looked their best in years with the help of his running ability and his fellow backfield tandem. With an unfortunate end to his 2016 season he looks to rebound with some new weapons at the receiver position, the weakest on the offense.
