Coming off a 12-4 season, the Kansas City Chiefs open up training camp on July 28. Here is the team’s schedule prior to the 2017 regular season.

QB – Patrick Mahomes – Round 1 

Pundits raved about Mahomes, the confident, big-armed gunslinger out of Texas Tech. He may be the one to finally buck the trend of air-raid quarterbacks flunking out in the NFL. Mahomes put on a clinic at Texas Tech last season to the tune of 5,052 yards and 41 touchdowns. Accustomed to the slow-paced, methodical Alex Smith, Chiefs fans got a change of pace with the Mahomes selection.

DE – Tanoh Kpassagnon – Round 2 

The Villanova product is every bit of 6-foot-7, 289 pounds off the edge. He’ll likely come off that edge in the Chiefs’ 3-4 blueprint. He’s a physical specimen who could develop into a star if the Chiefs are patient with their second-round project.
