Perhaps the Pittsburgh Steelers running back simply has a flair for the dramatic. With less than 24 hours to the deadline for a contract extension, Le’Veon Bell isn’t in Pittsburgh. Instead he’s relaxing and having fun in Florida.
According to his Snapchat, Bell spent Sunday night at Strike 10, an upscale bowling alley and hookah lounge in Hallandale, Florida.
Bell could be getting on a plane to Pittsburgh first thing in the morning to sign his new contract, but that seems less and less likely.
If Bell and the Steelers fail to come to a deal, Bell can still be the highest-paid running back in the league this season on his big fat $12.1 million franchise tag. This gets him a huge raise and doesn’t put the Steelers on the hook for him long term just yet.
If a contract extension isn’t signed and Bell has a monster season, his asking price is only going to increase in 2018. And he’ll probably need to write a new rap song about it.
