After an involved off-season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have set themselves up to have a breakout year in 2017. The team added key components to both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, filling out and polishing their already impressive roster.
Veteran wide receiver DeSean Jackson and rookie tight end O.J. Howard join the Bucs’ offense, adding two more weapons to an already strong air attack. Former Redskins’ defensive tackle Chris Baker joins Gerald McCoy on the defensive line to help shutdown the run, and J.J. Wilcox will come in and split time with Keith Tandy and Chris Conte at the safety position. These additions will undoubtedly place Tampa Bay in playoff contention, and make them possible favorites to win the NFC South.
Though these acquisitions will provide a boost for the team on the field, the effect it will have in fantasy is somewhat unknown. As the season approaches, so does speculation about fantasy football. The Bucs have one of the more intriguing rosters in the league, and with all of the new additions, the current value of players has changed from last season.
The biggest beneficiary from the off-season transactions has been quarterback Jameis Winston.
