As we get closer to training camp, everyone is making their predictions for the 2017 season. For the New England Patriots, expectations are rather high.
Last season, the Patriots were able to win their fifth Super Bowl. While that Patriots team was a very good one, the Patriots are arguably better on paper this coming season. As almost a lock to make the playoffs in the AFC, the Patriots will likely have one of the best records in the NFL next season.
Due to their team success, players will have the chance to win some individual accolades. Recently, NFL Nation reporters picked who would most likely be the MVP of the AFC East. After a great 2016 season, the choice was rather easy for them.
Tom Brady might be turning 40 later this summer, but that didn’t stop ESPN.com’s AFC East reporters from unanimously picking the New England Patriots quarterback to be the division’s MVP this season.
As the favorite in Las Vegas to win the NFL MVP, the choice was rather easy among just the AFC. Considering that the Patriots will likely be the winners in the division, that gives Brady an extra advantage.
At nearly 40-years-old, Brady showed no signs of slowing down last season. If not for being suspended for the first four games of the season, Brady might have been able to challenge Matt Ryan for the NFL MVP last season.
As for Brady’s competition, there isn’t much on paper in the AFC East. The New York Jets will certainly have nobody in the conversation, as they will be lucky to win four games this season. As…
