DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) – Former Cincinnati Bengal AJ Hawk got the ride of his life June 19.
The Thunderbirds gave the Kettering native a hawk’s eye view, taking him up ahead of their performance as headliners for the Vectren Dayton Air Show.
Every year, someone of celebrity status get s to go up and put them to the test in the skies over Dayton, and for 2017, it was AJ’s turn.
“My daughter asked me before I came if I was nervous,” former linebacker Hawk said. “I said, Yeah I am a little bit, but I think you just don’t know what to expect until you get in there. It’s pretty crazy, it happens pretty quickly, so. But yeah, once in a lifetime opportunity, no question. So I’m very glad I did.”
The NFL Super Bowl champion played at the Ohio State University, and was drafted by the Green Bay Packers. He went on to play for both the Cincinnati Bengals and the Atlanta Falcons.
