Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has a mounting list of sponsors and endorsement deals after a stellar rookie season in Dallas. He’d already been working with everyone from Keurig coffee and Nicholas Air to Pepsi and Tostitos. Now, he’s filming commercials with Campbell’s Chunky soup. USA TODAY’s Alysha Tsuji sat down with Prescott and Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly. Here’s what Prescott had to say:
On his love of soup
Prescott said his favorite Campbell’s soup is the new Chunky Maxx bison one. Why?
“I’m not going to say it’s so much better,” he told USA TODAY, “because all of them are great. But 40 percent more meat, it’s almost too much but it’s amazing. The taste, the richness, I love it.”
How does he feel about soup generally?
“I’m a big soup fan, Prescott said. “I probably eat soup five times out of the week, for the most part for lunch. I’m gonna eat a bunch while I’m here today too.”
And on getting the Campbell’s deal …
“It was cool, they’ve been a sponsor for the NFL for 20 years, so pretty much almost all of my life. Seeing all the commercials and seeing everything they’ve done, being a fan of the NFL, watching them as I grew up, it’s cool to be on the other side and be partnered with them.”
On the Cowboys locker room
USA TODAY asked Prescott about the Cowboys locker room antics. Is running back Ezekiel Elliott as ridiculous as he seems?
“Yeah, he’s a jokester,” Prescott said of Elliott. “Lucky Whitehead is a jokester and Dez can be a jokester, so we’ve got a good bit of jokester, but what it is is we just have fun. We separate the two. We have fun in the locker room when we’re hanging out, but the moment…
