I wrote a couple of weeks ago about the new shirts showing up around the Cowboys’ practice facility.
Like the FIGHT, WE DO, ATTACK, 17″ and HAH! shirts that came before them, the 2017 offseason slogan for the Cowboys is Re-Commit.
Several players and staff members have been seen around The Star wearing the navy blue shirts with “RE-COMMIT” written in white across the chest.
What does that slogan mean to the team?
Here’s what Dak Prescott, Dez Bryant and Jason Garrett had to say.
Prescott: “It’s the mantra. It’s what this team is about. Re-commit every day. We come in every morning, you know it’s going to be a grind. We know we’re going to have meetings, hot practices, but it’s about the commitment to this team and to each other. It takes doing that, re-committing every day for us to get better and to get on that path to where we want to be. … Re-commit’s not just something in this locker room. You’re recommitting to this team and to our goal every day. That’s probably going to play more in hand going into this month off when we’re not together. It’s being committed to this team and being held accountable for everyone.”
Bryant: “Re-commit means to me, not only pick up where you left off with the good stuff but just when you pick up, see what you can do to be better. Tighten down on your craft. Make sure you know everything the way you need to know it. It’s all about self-accountability. I think a lot of us guys in here understand that and we’re just going to be who we are. We love football and we’re going to play to the best of our abilities.”
