With OTA’s in the rearview mirror, the focus now switches to mandatory mini-camp for the Buffalo Bills. With that, there are still questions about the Bills roster and positional battles which may drag out till the end of the pre-season. With a new head coach, and new defensive and offensive schemes, the pressure is on some of the veterans to lock down their starting job.
In an interesting turn of events, Vladimir Ducasse has taken first-team reps -meaning that John Miller – who has started all 28 games he has played was taking second team reps. It is interesting as most people viewed Ducasse as more of a depth option for the offensive line, while the third-year Louisville product would continue to start at his right guard position.
It does make sense having a competition as competition should bring the best out in a player, and the starter would know there is someone behind ready to take his spot.
There is also an outside chance the Bills may feel Dawkins is better suited as a right guard and he becomes the starter.
